Using VirtualBox for testing

Note: if you can use KVM (try kvm-ok on your system and read what it says), prefer KVM (performances wise).

• under Lucid Lynx
• using PPA  https://launchpad.net/~debfx/+archive/virtualbox

  sudo apt-add-repository ppa:debfx/virtualbox
  sudo apt-get update
  sudo apt-get install vboxgtk virtualbox-ose-dkms virtualbox-ose-fuse
  

Goals

• test the LDAP installation/configuration part on a clean system
• test the DEB packaging on a clean system
• test the DEB packaging upgrade process on a clean (or not) system

Use

• To come. I'm writing setup.

Setup

• create an i386 VirtualBox
• use a  mini.iso from archive.ubuntu.com as the CD-ROM and install from network.
• login / password: installateur / meta
• install these packages:

  basic server
  mail server
  samba server
  OpenSSH server
